Diversity & Inclusion

The environments in which we live and work are becoming increasingly global in scope. As a consequence, we realize that the more closely our employees’ diverse experiences, backgrounds and talents reflect the wide-ranging interests and needs of our clients, the better able we are to provide them with the best services and solutions.

Embracing Differences
We are committed to maintaining and cultivating a diverse and inclusive firm culturegrounded in respect and teamwork. Our administrative and professional staff are of diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, ages and physical abilities that reflect our diverse world. We recognize that the rich and varied experiences and perspectives of our staff lead us to provide more innovative and creative solutions to the ever-changing needs of our external and internal clients.

Giving back
The diverse backgrounds of our employees also reflect the diversity of the communities in which we live and work. Our employees actively give back to their local communities, as well as to broader charitable causes and drives, by participating in firm-sponsored charitable races, walks and runs and by donating to food, toy, school supply and clothing drives within their communities. Recent and ongoing initiatives include the following:

Since 2007, the New York and Washington, D.C. offices have partnered with Don Bosco Cristo Rey to provide internships to area high school students participating in the Don Bosco Corporate Work Study Program. Interns work directly with and alongside administrative staff who provide on-the-job training and professional mentoring.

Since 1997, employees in the Washington, D.C. office have tutored children in reading and math at the inner-city Tyler Elementary School on a weekly basis, serving as mentors to the students, while helping them develop creative and analytical skills.

Employees in the Houston office provide gifts of clothing and toys to Houston-area children during the holiday season in conjunction with the Houston Young Lawyers Association’s Adopt an Angel program.

Since 2010, staff and lawyers in the Los Angeles office have supported the Los Angeles County Department of Public and Social Services annual holiday Adopt-A-Family program by providing gifts and clothing to area families in need.
